There were plenty of “Yo-ho-hos” “ A-hoy theres”and “Aaaarrrrs” to be heard on Marlow High Street on Friday 27th May as National Pirate Day took the town by storm!
Mark Howard & ‘FST the group’ invited all ages to dress-like-a-pirate, have fun and raise some gold doubloons for Harry’s fund at the Meningitis Research Foundation.
FST Pirates encouraged motorists on Marlow Bridge to dig deep and both Spinfield and Bisham primary schools got involved, as did Burgers and Softcat. The Slug and Lettuce hosted a Pirate Day Quiz at 1pm on the day and then it was ‘shiver-me-timbers’ as the pirate party rolled into the Ship in the evening. To date around £2500 has been raised.
